Matt Groenings Cartoons

Some might know who Matt Groening is and some might not like his work. He is an American cartoonist, screenwriter, and producer. Groening is mainly known for creating the long going series called “The Simpsons”. I personally don’t watch the Simpsons very often nowadays, but it is that “stooges” type of humor by Homer, the dad of the family, getting injured in some way by his kids or others around him. It is stupid goofy humor and he brings it into a mature cartoon series. It is not recommended that kids watch the show because of its adult humor to go along with, so this was the first mature successful cartoon series of all time. I don’t get why it is because it has had dried up humor for the past couple of years and every Lisa episode is sooo boring. I am not saying Groening is a bad creator or writer I am saying he should know when this series needs to end. He is actually a great writer and smart by using the Simpsons to get his type of humor across and doing it very successfully. What confuses me the most is that a network still has the Simpsons under contract for new season and will keep it on the air. This confuses me because Futurama, the second successful mature cartoon Groening created, was canceled in 2003 by Fox, but they kept The Simpsons. Futurama is way better than the Simpsons and has great creativeness to the show. Both have good intelligent jokes, mainly Futurama. It is surprising to see this show get canceled after five seasons, and of course it was so popular there was always re-runs on Cartoon Network after it was canceled, Groening made four movies of Futurama, it moved to Comedy Central, and is now back, it just finished its sixth season this year. I was very happy that it came back on the air with a new season and Comedy Central broadcasts the new episodes. This just shows how stupid Fox is with TV shows by canceling not one but two great shows in the same year, Futurama and Family Guy twice. They both had great DVD sales, I should know I have all the volumes and seasons, but Family Guy had better sales to go back on the air way faster. It is an unfortunate thing to see one great cartoon show be off the air for about seven years before finally someone being smart enough to bring it back with an actual season. In between these years they did four movies and Comedy Central did air them in 2006 to 2010 before finally having a sixth season that started in the summer. People need to know that Futurama is better than The Simpsons ever was and Groanings second creation is the better one. The show is really interesting because it is in the year 3000-3010 so far and time travel is involved. They have the stupid guy, Frye, that says the funniest things and the inappropriate robot, Bender, who drinks and smokes because he can’t feel anything, so it is not bad for him and he laughs at the fact that humans can feel things and die. Also they have that crazy old man in Professor Hubert Farnsworth, Frye’s great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great, well you get it, nephew. It is comical show and always has a great story line to it, the flight crew always going on a delivery and messing it up somehow. All the characters and creatures Groaing makes and thinks of is amazing, just so many of them in the series. I really do want people to know that Futurama is the better creation of Groaing and not the always over-rated Simpsons. I mean The Simpsons is an original series, but not as good as Futurama.

bosco… I really enjoy reading your writing… you are developing your own style and it makes an impression. You made me laugh outloud with the “great, great… great, well you get it.”
